Founded in 1911, the prestigious Connecticut College is a small liberal arts college in New London with close-knit social science programs. With its impressive 9:1 student-to-faculty ratio and average class size of 19, Conn offers many opportunities quality learning experiences across its 43 majors. That success is fostered by the school's “Connections” curricular approach, through which students can enroll in “integrative pathways” that promote interdisciplinary study. Conn offers every student a $3,000 internship before their senior year, and about 80 percent of students participate in the school’s career program. Conn's Honor Code and shared governance are a major part of campus culture. Its arboretum campus spans over a square mile near the Thames river, and 98% of students live on campus in 23 residence halls. Conn has a unique array of traditions, from carrying pine saplings during commencement to hosting a Festivus dance in honor of the Seinfeld holiday.
