A private, Christian Evangelical Protestant liberal arts college located in Wheaton, IL, Wheaton College was established in 1860 at the dawn of the Civil War. The college offers 40 undergraduate majors and 14 graduate degree programs, and Wheaton’s Conservatory of Music offers six majors focusing on performance, composition, teaching and scholarship. Students most frequently major in social sciences, visual/performing arts, business, English and theology. Wheaton's study abroad program offers study opportunities in over 30 countries as well as in Chicago. The Honduras Project is a Christ-centered service opportunity for students to provide aid and support to the people of Honduras, constructing gravity-fed water systems in rural villages to provide clean water. Alumni include the “master of horror” film director Wes Craven and New York Times best-selling author Rob Bell. The Wheaton Thunder compete in the NCAA Division III.
