With an impressive student-faculty ratio of 9:1, Trinity College, a "Little Ivy", is a prestigious liberal arts college in Hartford, CT. The vast majority of Trinity students live on the 100-acre Gothic-style campus, whose library features nearly 1,000,000 books. Trinity's Human Rights program is the first of its kind among U.S. liberal arts colleges, as is its Center for Urban and Global Studies, which boasts the cities program, a selective non-major curriculum that dives deep into the field of urban studies. While a third of Trinity students major in a social science, group studies are popular as well (11%). The school adopted the “J-Term” system in 2014, a popular feature at colleges through which students can explore a subject in depth. The half-credit courses run for two weeks between the fall and spring semesters.
