Established in 1886 as the premier Jewish university in the country, Yeshiva University is located in Manhattan, NY, with four campuses throughout the city as well as a campus in Israel. The university is home to four schools: Yeshiva College, Stern College for Women, Mordecai D. and Monique C. Katz School of Graduate and Professional Studies and Sy Syms School of Business. Students have the option of 25 undergraduate majors, all intertwined with classic Jewish studies programs. The university launched a special program in 2015 with the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, allowing students to graduate in four years and become ordained as a rabbi in six. Students are provided with kosher dining halls and enjoy hearing from prestigious lecturers, such as former New York mayor and philanthropist Michael Bloomberg and fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger. The school also offers a year-long study abroad program in Israel, which sent over 600 students to the country in 2016. The Yeshiva Maccabees compete in the NCAA Division III.
