The College of the Holy Cross is New England’s oldest Jesuit school, and it has emerged as one of the nation’s premier liberal arts and Catholic schools. Its graduates’ successes are commendable: 96% of law school applicants and 82% of medical school applicants are accepted to their respective programs. Thirteen Holy Cross students have been awarded Fulbright scholarships, and almost all student-athletes graduate. Holy Cross has produced several distinguished political figures, including Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas, Pennsylvania senator Bob Casey and former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau. Holy Cross students can choose from 34 majors; the liberal arts curriculum allows for up to three programs (majors, minors and concentrations) and includes a religion course. The annual Purple Pride Day celebrates school spirit, and Holy Cross’s Spring Concert has recently hosted artists including T-Pain and Timeflies. The 174-acre Worcester, MA campus is heavily residential, with 90% of students choosing to live on campus.
