Originally founded in 1769 to educate Native Americans, Dartmouth College is a private research university located in scenic Hanover, NH. Dartmouth may be the smallest Ivy League school, but it distinguishes itself through top-tier academics and a flourishing social community. The unique year-round calendar at Dartmouth — four ten-week terms throughout the year — lets Dartmouth students intertwine their studies with research, travel, and work experience. Dartmouth offers 60-plus majors, plus a smorgasbord of opportunities to engage in hands-on research. Outside of class, Dartmouth students can compete on 35 Division I varsity teams, join over 350 student organizations, or rush one of Dartmouth’s 28 Greek chapters, which claim over 60% of the student population. Notable Dartmouth alumni include poet Robert Frost, writer Dr. Seuss, senator Kirsten Gillibrand, actress and comedian Mindy Kaling and CNN anchor Jake Tapper.
