Hamilton College is a small liberal arts college in Clinton, NY, at the foothills of the Adirondack mountains. Named for the Founding Father of Broadway musical fame, Hamilton was first chartered as a college in 1812 but dates back to 1793, when it was developed as a school for Oneida Indians and white settlers. Today, Hamilton offers top-notch academics that students can tailor to their individual interests: Hamilton’s “open curriculum” pairs students with an academic adviser to take courses geared toward their individual interests while still requiring them to follow a liberal arts trajectory. At Hamilton, student leadership in around 200 organizations is the norm: 75% of seniors say they’ve held a leadership position in at least one organization by the time they graduate. And in their free time, Hamilton students can unwind by participating in a campus-run sprint triathlon or by attending wintertime events during Feb Fest.
