Founded in 1853, University of Florida is a public land-grant, sea-grant and space-grant research university in Gainesville, FL. UF is one of the largest single-campus universities in the country with more than 30,000 students. UF’s staggering 2,000-acre campus, with more than 900 buildings, is a top-notch research hub: it’s home to more than 10,000 active research projects and $724 million in research awards. The university’s Innovation Hub has helped build more than 190 startups. UT offers more than 100 undergraduate majors; the social sciences, engineering and business are the most popular areas.
