The university offers 165 majors in 79 departments, and its academic calendar is broken up into quarters – three terms in the academic year and an additional summer session. The school's faculty has accumulated Nobel Prizes, 80+ National Academy of Science Awards and 90+ American Academy of Arts and Sciences Awards. The university helps students get involved in research through the university and off campus through its Undergraduate Research Program; students can also get real-world work experience through CoMotion, a university center that helps students develop entrepreneurial ideas. In their free time, students can enjoy amazing views of Mount Rainier and easy access to Seattle must-sees like Pike Place Market and Puget Sound The Washington Huskies had an incredible year in athletics: the football team made it to the four-team College Football Playoff and basketball star Markelle Fultz was selected first-overall in the 2017 NBA Draft.
