Originally established in 1859 as a seminary, Whitman College is situated in the charming and trendy Pacific Northwest city of Walla Walla, WA. Whitman offers 46 departmental majors, not to mention combined programs with other schools in engineering and computer science, oceanography, biology, geology, forestry and environmental management. WC also provides students with an expansive study abroad program, encompassing 88 separate programs in 41 different countries worldwide. The Whitman Internship Grant funded over 130 internships in the summer of 2017, and the school awards over $30 million annually in scholarships and financial aid. Whitman College has actively pursued sustainability, leasing land to wind farms and ensuring buildings on campus adhere to LEED standards, along with discontinuing the sale of disposable water bottles on campus. The school is also home to eight Greek Life programs. The Whitman Blues compete in the NCAA Division III.
