Founded in 1834, Wake Forest University is a highly selective and competitive private research university distinguished by its academic excellence and hands-on approach to learning. Located in Winston-Salem, NC, this university includes graduate schools in business, law, medicine and divinity, as well as an undergraduate college where students can choose from over 45 majors and 65 minors, with an intimate 11:1 student-to-faculty ratio. Qualified students can also design their own interdisciplinary majors. Wake Forest is among the best schools in the nation whose application doesn't require standardized test scores. For Wake Forest, learning goes beyond the classroom: the school has one of the highest undergraduate participation in study abroad programs among doctoral research universities — over 60% of students participates in one of the 400+ study abroad programs. Wake Forest’s rich student life includes over 250 student clubs and organizations, and 48% of the student population participates in one of 22 fraternity and sorority chapters.
